I hope you will agree to its omission.
(b) I have added to your condition (2) in paragraph 2 (old paragraph 3) the words which were included in our draft, namely
"on the basis mentioned in paragraph 4 of my telegram No.600, namely that the terms should not be appreciably less favourable than those obtainable in London". The telegram referred to was, I understand, sent after a discussion with the Treasury. I take it that the Treasury still accept the above condition and I think that it would be helpful to repeat it in this telegram.

I am copying this to Owen, Treasury, ell, Bank of England and Goldburg, Crown Agents, who would, perhaps, telephone any comments they might have direct to me. I should like to get this telegram off not later than next Tuesday morning.
